The Windsor

The Windsor means different things to different people. Mends Street Bar is for watching the world go by during the day and letting your hair down at night with great local entertainers. The Venue 

The Windsor was built between 1895 and 1898 and remains one of the great surviving hotels in Australia. The Windsor is a fine example of the commercial architecture of prominent Perth architect JJ Talbot Hobbs. JJ also designed the Swan Brewery in Mount street, so he understood a bit about beer. The Windsor was built for George Strickland for the princely sum of four thousand and fifty pounds.

Presently listed with the national trust and owned and cared for by the Ogden family, the Windsor has undergone renovations which mixes its historic charm with contemporary chic. The former public bar has been transformed into the modern boutique Mends St Bar, while the old restaurant is now a colourful cafe bar with outside decking. The rear sports bar was demolished to make way for a huge, shady courtyard bar and alfresco dining area.

Windsor Cafe and Garden 

Come down and check out the cafe and garden at the Windsor, open off Mill Point Rd. There is a choice of inside and shady outdoor areas and the garden is pristine with soothing Karratha stone and water features. There is also Arizona Mist to keep you cool, and the area is lit with extravagant flame features. Already a popular eating spot, the cafe offers a huge range of contemporary dishes, pizzas from the wood fired pizza oven, along with daily specials to suit everyone's needs.

Whether you feel like a full meal or just a snack with a glass or three of beer or wine, it is open seven days a week from 11.30am to late evening. The staff are there to make your dining experience one that you'll enjoy and remember.

Wood Fired Pizza 

Come and enjoy great wood fired pizza at The Windsor Hotel, fired up for you from Thursday to Sunday every week.

Functions 

With a wide variety of areas, The Windsor can cater for functions of all types and sizes, from small business meetings, standing parties to lunches or dinners for large groups. They have a range of set priced, limited choice menus and party platters to choose from. Check out their newly designed Bali and Singapore Rooms in the Garden, perfect for your next cocktail style function. You can hire out the Windsors Funtion Room for as little as $150. The Windsor can seat up to 25 people, if your party will consist of more than 25 individuals The Windsor recommends a standing cocktail event.

Sitdown

The Garden Bar 

The Garden Bar features the Bali and Singapore rooms. This wonderfully ambient area is fast becoming Perth's worst kept secret meeting place. DJ Ray now keeps the ever increasing Sunday afternoon and evening crowd entertained.

The Mends St Bar 

The Mend St Bar is ideal for catching up with friends, relaxing after a hard day at work, or a lazy weekend just enjoying the atmosphere. The bar offers guests a large area to enjoy the great selection of wines, boutique beers, top shelf spirits and delicious cocktails, with a choice of comfortable outdoor seating behind cafe blinds and a lounge area - the Mends St Bar caters for everyone. The remodelling was completed in 2005 and has a retro feel to it with contemporary decor and warm inviting atmosphere. The evening sees the Mends St Bar fire up providing a great venue to party the night away.

The Bottleshop 

The Windsor Bottleshop is a Cellarbrations outlet which is great as a drive thru or park and browse. It is open Sunday to Thursday from 10am-10pm and Friday and Saturday 10am-11pm. They have a wide selection of liquor to cater for all your needs.
